Course information:
Sensory diets are written after an assessment by an occupational therapist is carried out. They are complex documents with every sense and issue identified and strategies for staff and parents/carers to put into place. The course covers analysis of a sensory diet, using and applying the strategies outlined, and creating your own sensory timetables for individual pupils and small groups of children.

Terri Wild has over 20 years’ experience of working with children with additional needs, challenging behaviour and complex health needs.  She is an accredited Advanced Team Teach tutor. She has led courses within Bury over the past 5 years supporting mainstream staff to manage challenging behaviour within their settings. She has expertise in total communication, sensory processing needs, managing and understanding challenging behaviour and autism.

Karen Hogg is an HLTA at Millwood with 24 years’ experience. She has worked with children with sensory processing difficulties in a sensory specific class for the last 9 years. Over that time she gained a wealth of knowledge and experience from working alongside other SI therapists.

Neither trainer is a registered Occupational Therapist. Only OTs are able to undertake assessments.
